The posthumous post was quickly deleted

The late comedy icon Joan Rivers, who died Sept. 4 at age 81 from complications from throat surgery, gave her fans one last surprise on Friday when her Facebook account promoted the new Apple iPhone 6 with a posthumous post.
The update called the new iPhone 6 a “great achievement in design” before it was quickly removed. Sites like TMZ speculate that the post was the result of a deal with Apple negotiated before her death.
As TIME critic Richard Corliss wrote in his obituary, “If Joan Rivers can no longer talk, she deserves to be talked about forever.” Facebook seems to be doing its part to make that happen. Here’s the full text of the post:
This badass is being replaced by an iPhone 6 (not the fat one). I got this one in 2010, and after 4 years, my only complaint is that apps are now designed for bigger screens, and the battery is getting tired. Never had a case for it, since it was the most beautiful on its own. Great achievement in design. Great product. #apple #iPhone #tech
