The Yamaha Fazer Fi version 2.0 has been spied in one of the dealerships in Guragaon.
The Fazer Fi Version 2.0 too gets significant styling as well as mechanical changes. Beginning with the styling first, the updated Fazer Fi will be sporting the same reworked silhoutte of the updated FZ-Fi up to the tank, and borrows all the new components introduced on the naked sibling, such as fuel tank, side and rear body panels, tail light, split rear pillion grab rails, split seats, fully digital instrument console, new exhaust pipe design and rear tyre hugger, giving it a brawny yet edgier appeal. What obviously the Fazer Fi will sport apart from the FZ is the all-new front fairing, with a new sharper design for the headlamp casing, pilot lamp, front visor and side panels of the fairing.
The updated Fazer Fi Version 2.0 will borrow the same re-bored engine of the updated FZ and FZ-S without any dramatic changes. And that means the Fazer will now be bolstered with a detuned 149cc engine which will be able to pump 13.1 PS of power and 12.8 Nm. The figures seem less and making the Fazer a bit underpowered on the paper, but the addition of new Blue Core Technology, along with the developed-in-house fuel-injection system will help it to deliver a linear power delivery, crispier throttle response and a better fuel efficiency, making it to continue being a capable touring machine.
The updated Yamaha Fazer Fi Version 2.0 will continue being underpinned by the same chassis, suspension and brakes setup. The front 41mm telescopic forks and rear monoshock have been unchanged in the new bike. The brakes on duty will be a front disc and a rear drum. It is a bit disappointing that Yamaha has skipped the rear disc for the updated version too. The bike also carries the same tyre specifications, 100/80x17 front and 140/60x16 rear MRF rubbers, which like the ones on updated FZs, will be made up of a new softer and better compound and a new tread design.
